Just thought other neighbors should know the Philadelphia Water Department gets the most points for scaring the hecque out of my partner and me today. My partner came home to discover a shut off notice tucked in our front door. Of course, she panicked! She called me, I checked online with our bank, and told her, that our account with them was definitely up to date.

So she called the Water Revenue Bureau to see what may have gone wrong. She described the notice to the nice lady on the other end of the line, who calmly tells her, “oh that’s from the Water Meter Department, call them.” So she calls them to discover they are having mandatory water meter upgrades, and they just need to get into the house.

You couldn’t have put that note in our bill for to make an appointment? You have to scare us into calling instead?

Brilliant customer service!!
