Bloomers in the Spotlight at Penn by University of Pennsylvania

Via Flickr:

For its fall 2017 show, the University of Pennsylvania’s Bloomers, the nation’s first all-sketch comedy and musical parody troupe, delivered a note: “To Bloom It May Concern.”

The show ran Oct. 19-21 at the Iron Gate Theater in Philadelphia.

Bloomers was founded in 1978, opening the genre of musical sketch comedy to women.

Named for Amelia Jenks Bloomer, who popularized the long undergarments worn under skirts in the 1850s, Bloomers performs student-run productions performed once each semester.
