On March 31, the 2016 Kelly Writers House annual Marathon Reading event celebrated the book If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino.

About 25 volunteers including students, staff and visitors took 10-minute turns at the podium reading portions of the book aloud, straight through from noon to 8 p.m.

The room was decorated with white and black free-floating balloons tied to pages from the book. Food referenced in the text complemented the event and included meatballs, roasted chicken and pastries with whipped cream.
