After more than 17 years of annually bringing cutting-edge performing and visual arts to venues all across Philadelphia, this month FringeArts gets a year-round permanent home of its own.
Last year, the organization behind the Fringe Festival (formerly known as the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe) purchased the historic High Pressure Fire Service building on Delaware Avenue, just across the street from Race Street Pier, and has now transformed it into a contemporary arts haven.
Rather than only bringing Philadelphia audiences works during its annual festival, the freshly renovated space will offer FringeArts a brick-and-mortar foundation from which to produce year-round high-quality local and national dance, theater and music performances.
